Project Type: Chennile Stem 3D Plushies
Time Needed: 20 Minutes+
Skill Level: Intermediate At Weaving
Special: Pom Pom Addition on Beanie, Felt Eyes
Best Learn: Pumpkin Plushie in Small Size

Welcome to another part of the “Kawaii Boo ghosts plushie” series. Today, learn shows how to make a cute ghost wearing a beanie hat using pipe cleaners. First, fold and glue white pipe cleaners together to build a hollow ghost body with flared bottom edges.

Next, glue two black oval eyes onto the front.

Make a green winter beanie hat by folding green pipe cleaners and glue a white coiled pom-pom to the top. Then, coil an orange pipe cleaner to make a tiny pumpkin, add pastel shading, and glue it to the ghost. Finally, place battery fairy lights inside the ghost so it glows.

Difficulty Level

  • Level: Intermediate

  • Why: The project requires neat folding, shaping, and hot-gluing of pipe cleaners to build a hollow figure that stands upright. It also requires making small detailed parts, including the ribbed beanie, the coiled pom-pom, and the mini pumpkin, followed by careful pastel shading.

Materials

  • White pipe cleaners (for ghost body and hat pom-pom)

  • Green pipe cleaners (for beanie hat)

  • Orange and small stem pipe cleaner (for mini pumpkin)

  • Black felt or craft foam (cut into oval eyes)

  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks

  • Scissors

  • Thin rod or needle (for coiling the pom-pom)

  • Cylindrical tube or glue stick (for shaping the pumpkin)

  • Chalk pastels and small makeup/paint brush (orange, brown, green)

  • Mini battery-operated LED fairy lights
