Mushroom Cap Ghost Plushie for Halloween
In today’s part of “better than crochet” plushies series for Halloween, learn to make a cute mushroom ghost using pipe cleaners. First, cross colored pipe cleaners to make spokes and weave around them in a dome shape to form a mushroom cap.
Trim the extra wire ends and neat the rim.
Next, shape white pipe cleaners into tall loops and weave them together to build a hollow ghost body with flared bottom edges. Glue the mushroom cap onto the ghost body. Finally, glue small white dots onto the cap and attach two shiny black oval eyes to complete the ghost.

Why: Shaping the mushroom cap and ghost body requires tight, three-dimensional pipe-cleaner weaving. It also requires careful wire cutting and precise hot-gluing so the hollow figure stays sturdy and stands upright.

00:01 – 00:04: Cross multiple colored pipe cleaners at the center to form a radial star, then weave another pipe cleaner over and under the spokes in an expanding circle.

00:05 – 00:08: Bend the spokes downward to shape a rounded dome while continuing to weave pipe cleaners around the sides.

00:09 – 00:10: Cut off the excess wire spoke tips around the rim using scissors.

00:11 – 00:14: Glue an extra pipe cleaner along the inside rim to cover raw ends and press the cap into a smooth dome.

00:15 – 00:23: Take white pipe cleaners, bend them into long vertical arches, and weave horizontally across them to make a hollow ghost body with curved, wavy bottom edges.

00:24: Apply hot glue to the top of the white ghost body and press the mushroom cap firmly on top.

00:25 – 00:29: Cut small round dots out of white felt and glue them all over the cap using tweezers.
